The International Thespian Society a global theatre education honor society. Westside’s Troupe #1602 is both an affiliate of the honor society and Westside’s school drama club!
The Theatre Club Side

  • Group rates to local shows and broadway tours
  • Social events
  • Monthly meetings with games and activities
  • A state festival with thousands of other Nebraska theatre students

The Honor Society Side

  • Competitions with state, national, and international qualifiers
  • Rankings with special scholarships and distinctions, including graduation cords.
  • Membership in a student government at the state, national, and even international levels.

how to get involved

Westside students will spend three days & two nights downtown at the Double Tree Hotel and Holland Center to participate in a weekend of workshops, competitions, shows, and social events with 900 other Nebraska high school theatre students!

Nebraska Thespians State Festival

January 6th, 7th, and 8th 2022

Registration Fee: $130 per attendee

Hotel price per room: $139 (4 people to a room, max)

     - $69.50 per person for a two-person room

     - $46.34 per person for a three-person room

     - $34.75 per person for a four-person room

    NOTE: Students are encouraged to find room-mates. There will be a room sign-up on the office door.

     Checks can be made out to Warrior Theatre


- forms are due with payment by October 22nd (No later than Nov. 11th)


- Thespy Awards: students are invited to compete in a large variety of categories

​     - monologues, scenes, musical solos and group numbers

     - scenic, costume, lighting, and sound design

     - tech theatre challenges

     - improv comedy teams

     - playwriting and short film

- College auditions and scholarship interviews are available to seniors

​- Troupe pride with banners, displays, and “honor” awards

- Nominations of teachers and administrators for awards

- Social events including a banquet, dance, open mic, and karaoke!

COMPETITION SHOWCASE for Therspy Competitors - December 2nd & 3rd

Students competing in a Thespy category (see above) will also be invited to perform for our “Competition Showcase” on the evenings of December 2nd and 3rd; where Thespy Competitors can perform their piece, alongside our 2021 One-Act Play Competition Entry, for a live audience.
